Meeting on Wednesday, April 13

Our monthly meeting is Wednesday, April 13, at 10:00 am at our regular location (Fairfax Christian Church, 10185 Main Street, Fairfax, VA 22031).

Join us! Our topic is "Nutrition and Weaning". Bring your questions. Bring a friend.

Leaders are always available for one-on-one help at our meetings.

Meeting Formats

In both of our two meetings each month we seek to help each mother with the issues that affect her while also exploring a specific topic in a group discussion.  The emphasis of each of the meetings is slightly different -- our 2nd Wednesday meetings focus more on individual mothers' questions, while the 3rd Wednesday meetings have an in-depth discussion topic that changes each month.

Because of this, the two meetings have different formats:

• 2nd Wednesday -- burning questions are addressed first, and then we proceed with the discussion topic.
• 3rd Wednesday -- the discussion of the topic takes place first, after which mothers have the opportunity to bring up any questions they have.

LLL of Fairfax City now meets twice a month!

On the 2nd Wednesday of each month, come to our Breastfeeding Topics Series meeting. In these meetings we rotate through a series of four topics:

• The Advantages of Breastfeeding to Mother and Baby
• Baby Arrives: The Family and the Breastfed Baby
• The Art of Breastfeeding and Avoiding Difficulties
• Nutrition and Weaning

Since these meetings focus on the needs and experiences of the mothers present, each topic is different each time it is discussed. Please join us for more than one series!

On the 3rd Wednesday of each month, come expand on your experience as a breastfeeding mother with a variety of discussion topics. Some of the topics we have covered and plan to cover are:

• Nighttime Parenting
• Dealing with Criticism
• Fertility: Achieving or Avoiding Pregnancy
• Weaning
• Solid Foods
• The Co-Parent's Role in the Breastfeeding Relationship
• Asking for and Accepting Help

We welcome your suggestions for additional topics.
